Samhan District

Samhan District, once stood as a residential district, a safe-haven with a vibrant downtown reflecting a tightly woven community life. Mud-brick houses still preserve time, while Samhan Mosque remains one of its most prominent landmarks. Bab Samhan, the eastern gate of Diriyah and one of its main entrances, stands as an open symbol of the past and its living spirit. The district witnessed periods of prosperity during the First Saudi State and served as the first line of defense embodying the courage and steadfastness of the people who defended their land and identity. Today, Samhan opens its doors once more, welcoming visitors and enthusiasts through a series of cultural workshops that offer a deeper and more dynamic exploration of Diriyah's enduring history and heritage.
